Rainy California…

Filed under: Roadtrip — Matt Stamplis @ 8:54 pm

So we’re on the road now but I’m sad to say we don’t have any exciting updates. Although we’ve seen just about every form of wind and rain imaginable. All the way from the Redwoods to San Francisco we’ve seen nothing but crazy winds and rain, pretty much non-stop. The winds have been extreme enough that the RV weaves dangerously from side to side without warning. So driving has been a little….stressful!! Fortunately, I think the worst of the weather is behind us.

Now onto what we’ve actually done! Earlier today we did get the chance to visit a very cool chocolate factory outside of San Francisco, Charles Chocolates. Kind of like Willy Wonka, you get to see inside the factory and we got to see how they handmade all their chocolates. And of course we got to eat some – yay!

Finally, this evening we ate dinner with an old friend of mine who is living in the San Francisco area. It’s always nice to see someone you haven’t seen in….4 years!

Anyway, now we’re sitting in our RV, planning on leaving San Francisco tomorrow morning. It’s a little sad that we didn’t get too see any of the city. But I don’t think we can deal with any more of the crazy storm and the traffic around here right now. So we’re moving South in the morning, towards Pinnacles National Monument and eventually, towards the Los Angeles area. Looking at the forecast, it looks like miserable weather for at least a couple more days. Let’s hope for some sunshine!

  1. wow, you guys are moving pretty quickly from one place to another… i hope the weather improves 😉

  3. Hey Colleen,
We are having a great time out here. After travelling so far south, we are finally in Joshua Tree and it’s 60’s in the day here. We did get to go to San Diego Zoo and see the cute panda and also went to a cove and see many seals sun bathing on the beach, kinda cool. But Joshua Tree is definitely fun and climbing is a challenge for me. Miss you guys too.
